A Ridges & Furrows artist residency for North Hykeham
Tell me about where you grew up, was it near here?
A new piece of headphone theatre made in residence in the town I went to school. Your Home From Here will start with the question “tell me about where you grew up”. I’ll be roaming the streets of where I went to sixth form, the pool I swam in with Pentaqua, and hanging out around the Chip Stop finding out what’s the same, what’s changed, what people have to say about what it means to be from North Hykeham, Lincolnshire. At the end of this I’ll make a new piece of gently interactive listening theatre out of the stories I gather.
I’m also going to be running a series of workshops for budding and new writers from different age groups and experience levels around the area, and building an exhibition/event around all of our work.
“Come and share stories about where you grew up, where you live now, and what it’s like to be from where you’re from, as part of a storytelling residency by Hannah Nicklin. You don’t have to feel like you have a story already, just come and chat, draw, build, model, write, or just say hello, as we explore the identity of North Hykeham together.”
