Well said.

I'm not sure at what point the government became such a blatant mouthpiece for people with enough money. Maybe it's always been like it and it's only because I've recently become interested (and rapidly disenchanted) by politics.

If I could write half as eloquently as you, I'd be doing it too. Maybe I should start. It strikes me that the only way our voice will be heard is through a combined ripple effect of many things such as this.

Filesharing has brought me unmeasurable amounts of aural happiness that otherwise I'd never have known. Long may it continue.

Have seen a few people reacting to the tone that the letter finishes on. It may come across as slightly extreme, but I believe that if simple facts and practicalities are going to be continually ignored, policy makers need to understand the reality of the matter. The simple fact is that the geek contingent will always be one step ahead of government in these matters, which is why they need a carrot, not stick, approach. That is what I am trying to get across.
